A milestone day for SFA!

Added March 23rd, 2011

A milestone for our Construction Project! The Last of the big Beams gets installed!!!

As I write this new blog on Wednesday March 23, 2011, the last of the big Glue Lam beams is installed. Today is a milestone day for us here at St. Francis! The Crews from Fransen-Pittman and WITCO have worked very hard to get to this day. Thanks Guys – you’re doing a great job! WITCO is also installing wood decking for the roof, South Valley Drywall is putting up all of the exterior metal stud walls and Skip, our plumber is back. Lots of progress on the site- A great milestone day!!!

Parishioners – please watch this blog for the date and time of the raising of our Cupola!

Tanner Scurto came up with a great idea! When the cupola comes in and is ready to be installed, we will invite all of the parishioners to come over and celebrate! It will be a great day when it is lifted into place and we will celebrate with champagne, wine, sodas, coffee and goodies! What a great idea – Thanks Tanner! Please keep watching the blog for the latest details. As you can see by the picture above we are all prepared for its installation! Our Cupola is being fabricated by South Valley Drywall!

The last of the Major Connections has been approved and is in fabrication. We look to welcome S24!

The last of the major connection plates – S24 – has been approved and is now in fabrication. We should have it by Friday. This is the last of the major, and very complicated connector plates to be fabricated. Prior to its installation, we will have all of the FP and WITCO workers sign it. Thanks Chris Scurto for that great suggestion!!! We’ll get this picture to you shortly!

I also want to thank the Paul and the team from Fransen-Pittman for setting up our base for the Good Shepherd statue. It really looks great and I look forward the Good Shepherd Garden being finished as an Eagle Scout Project by Joseph Castellano!

Thanks to each of our Parishioners and friends who continue to make this project possible by your prayers, support and faith! You are all remarkable people of Faith and Trust in the Lord!!!

Construction Update for March 3, 2011!

Added March 3rd, 2011

They say a picture is worth a thousand words – So here are 5,000 words about our construction project as of today!

The Picture above shows the Carpenter Gothic Arches that grace the main entryway, flow through our new Narthex (Interior gathering space) and arch over our new Baptisery.
They are truly beautiful!

WITCO is hard at work installing the new decking for the roof.

South Valley Drywall is hard at work installing the perimeter walls.

Our new Choir Practice Room is framed, has the roof trusses installed and the roof sheeting work ongoing.

The Three Carpenter Gothic Arches that grace the South Eastern end of our new Church Sanctuary have been installed.

With great weather this week – a lot of great progress has been made!!!

Thanks Fransen-Pittman, Architectural Innovations, WITCO, South Valley Drywall, and Starling Steel!
