RAFFLE WINNER DRAWN!
Added May 31st, 2011

Congratulations to Liz Aguilar who won the beautiful painting that we raffled off on Sunday after the 11:30am Mass.

The picture above shows Seminarian David Boroff doing the actual drawing. Behind him are Worthy Grand Knight Alex Onda and Knight Richard Eddy.
We as a parish are most grateful to Katherine McNeil who so graciously painted the beautiful oil painting. In fact in our little Gift Counter we have several copies of her book in which she so wonderfully explains her own journey of faith and how painting helps her to express her deep faith. It is called Art by Faith. You can pick it up at our Gift Shop or order it online. What a gift Katherine is to our parish!!! I would invite you to check out Katherinemcneill.com to see all of her artwork.
Congratulations Liz!!!

Be Not Afraid!
Added May 6th, 2011

Greetings and peace in our Risen Lord! I have been with my Bishop and my Brother Priests here at St. Malo Retreat Center near Estes Park. What a gift this time with Bishop and my Brothers has been.

For the last several days we have been able to listen to some really great talks/conferences by Fr. McManus from the Archdiocese of New York. We have listened to some great talks on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, healing, and the new Roman Missal. I am very grateful that Bishop had the personal care to find this most excellent speaker. We really learned a lot.

Saint Malo always has a special place in my heart because Blessed John Paul II visited here. He was a great Pope. One of the favorite statements was “Be not Afraid.” He was able to live that in his life as a great disciple of our Lord.

This Morning I prayed a special rosary as I walked along the path that he walked so many years ago. I prayed it for each of my parishioners at St. Francis Parish and for each of you. You are great people of faith, trust and hope in the Lord! As I prayed that rosary, I gave thanks to God for your love for the Lord and for how inspiration you are in my life. You like my Bishop and my Brother Priests are truly a source of inspiration.
Be not Afraid!
Duc et Altum! (put out into the deep!)
Totus Tuus! (May we totally be yours!)

Blessed Pope John Paul II watch over us each day!
