This Memorial is dedicated to the "Four Immortal Chaplains" who gave their lives to
save civilian and military personnel when the U.S.A.T. Dorchester sank in WWII - February 3, 1943.
These four Army Chaplains from different faiths assisted wounded and distressed ci- vilians and
military personnel as their ship sank after being torpedoed.
