2019 Clergy Assignments

My Beloved in Christ!

During the month of June in our Diocese, Bishop Sheridan normally announces any priest personnel changes. I want to assure you that we are blessed to have a Bishop that truly cares about his priests and the needs of the parishes in our Diocese. Bishop is very consultative and truly takes time in prayer and reflection before making any priest personnel changes. Bishop announced on Monday June 3rd the priest personnel changes for our Diocese. These are effective on July 1, 2019.

Father Ricardo Rosales-Najera will be transferred as Parochial Vicar to St. Mary’s Cathedral. I have really enjoyed being with Fr. Ricardo and watching him grow in his command of the English language and watching his genuine love for the parishioners here at St. Francis. He is a real gem and a holy, humble man of God. I will sincerely miss him as he has been remarkable!

Father Mark Zacker will be our new Parochial Vicar. Father Mark has been the Pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in Colorado Springs for the last 12 years. He has been a priest for 23 years. Father Mark has a great pastoral heart and asked to spend time in Mexico learning Spanish. He has been there in an immersion program for the last 6 months. Father Mark did a great job at Corpus Christi Parish as their pastor and is well loved down there and in his other assignments in our Diocese and in the religious life. Father Mark is also completing a program leading to a certification in Spiritual Direction. He should be here in residence prior to July 1, probably a few weeks earlier.

Right now we are planning to have the weekend of June 29/30 as a celebration of great service and best wishes to Father Ricardo and the weekend of July 6/7 as a welcome weekend for Fr. Mark Zacker. We will get more details out to you as things develop!

In Christ!

Fr. Brad
