Happy 4th Sunday of Easter!

Happy World Day of Prayer for Vocations!

Happy Mother’s Day!

This is such a great weekend in the life of the Church. There are so many things happening! First as we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Easter we are reminded in the Gospel that “My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) May we take time in our daily routine of prayer and reflection to listen to the Word of God, to hear what God is trying to say to us and then to be men and women of great courage to follow him!

Second, during this weekend we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Vocations! Each and every one of us has a distinct call (vocare) to follow him. Again, may we be able to hear that call from God. May we have the courage to follow his call. May we have trust in the Lord to follow him wherever he leads us. I can personally assure you that God will not lead you into the wrong lands. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11 “They are plans for peace and not disaster. To give you a future filled with hope.”

Third, It’s Mother’s Day! What a great day to stop, honor, celebrate and remember our Moms, both living and deceased! Moms are such a great blessing! My Mom went home to God right before I came here 10 years ago. I still miss her and my dad tremendously! At the end of each Mass this weekend, we will impart a special Blessing to all Moms! May God continue to bless you all most abundantly for living out your vocation to motherhood so well!

In the bulletin is a card stock Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet. Take time to fill it out and return it to the office, via the collection basket, or in the basket in the narthex. All of these cards will be placed in the Rectory Chapel so that we can pray for all Moms each day during the Month of May.

May the peace of the Risen Christ be with you!
