Happy Sixth Sunday of Easter!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

A couple of reminders before I talk about Memorial Day.

First beginning this Thursday and continuing all through the Summer – Our Parish office will be closed on Thursdays for Staff Work days. Generally we are not answering phones or taking care of regular business. This gives our very dedicated and hard working staff the opportunity to somewhat get caught up with their work. If you need Mass Cards, or other things – we would be most happy to take care of you on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Just a reminder that the Solemnity of the Ascension has been permanently moved in the Archdiocese of Denver, Diocese of Colorado Springs, Diocese of Pueblo and the Diocese of Cheyenne to the following Sunday and replaces the Seventh Sunday in Easter. This was done to give the Solemnity of the Ascension great participation. This Thursday is a regular Easter Weekday.

Please remember to keep Memorial Day as a day to remember and honor those who have died while serving in our United States Armed Forces. It should be a somber day when we think of the ultimate sacrifice that they so beautifully gave that we may enjoy the freedoms that we are privileged to enjoy. Next to the altar this weekend there is a picture of Father Emil Kapaun. Fr. Kapaun was captured shortly after this picture was taken and he died as a prisoner of war, and died caring for the prisoners around him. He was and is a great model of the priesthood. You are most cordially invited to come to the Four Chaplains Memorial after the 11:30am Mass where a special Memorial Day wreath will be placed at the Memorial.

May the peace of the Risen Christ be with you always!

Fr. Brad
