Happy Third Sunday of Easter!

Happy Month of May dedicated to our Blessed Mother!

I would encourage all of you to take time during this Holy Season of Easter to read the post-Resurrection stories of the Lord. As I have said before, I find them very reassuring! In the midst of the shock, sadness, and grief following the death of the Lord, these post-Resurrection stories of the Lord serve to help the Apostles and disciples of the Lord know that he is indeed risen as he said. Indeed – He is Risen! Alleluia!

During this month of May, a month traditionally dedicated to our Blessed Mother, may you truly grow in your love for our Blessed Mother. Mary had such a depth of faith! She was able to say "Yes" to God despite her fears, concerns and trepidations. She had a tremendous depth of prayer as she “treasured and pondered all these things in her heart.” All of her life she constantly pointed to Christ. She was at the side of Christ in the good moments and the difficult moments. In his last moments, Jesus entrusted his mom to the beloved disciple, and the beloved disciple to his mom. As Christ suffered and died, she was at his side. She held the body of Christ in her arms after he was taken down from the cross.

I would encourage each of you to use this Holy month of May to truly develop a great love for the Blessed Mother. I would recommend that you read “The World's First Love” by Archbishop Fulton Sheen. This is a great book that truly explores the depth of Our Blessed Mother. May Our Blessed Mother intercede for you to her Son and Our Lord Jesus Christ always! Amen.

May the Peace of the Risen Christ be with you always! Fr. Brad
