SENT Teens: Formación en la fe para adolescentes

SENT High School Missionaries is a ministry of ACTION.

Planned and taught predominately by our CORE Leadership Team of High School Upperclassmen, SENT is focused on taking all of the knowledge about our faith and learning how to LIVE it as missionary disciples of Christ.

We meet predominately on Sunday evenings after 5:30pm Mass following the same schedule as Elem/Middle faith formation. We do have some gatherings on other days based on the kids' schedules.

Don't forget to register for SENT! Your registration helps to fund our program and provides a digital method of completing all of the required forms. Starting October 18th, all teens who have not registered will need to complete paper copies of the required Activity Release & Media Release forms. Not able to register at this time?! Please come anyway - I will have paper copies of the required forms at the Parish.

Make sure you are in our GroupMe for this year.  Day-to-day conversations, updates, event details (including the ability to RSVP, event addresses, cancellations due to weather/illness, etc.) are posted there.

If you are just joining SENT, please take a moment to complete this info sheet:  Getting to know you! SENT 2026-27 – Fill out form

Our year will include:

  • A shared meal at each gathering

  • Prayer

  • Opportunities to learn more about our faith through SENT Nights (brief lessons taught by the CORE team about different topics, Saints, etc) and Bible studies

  • Opportunities for Reconciliation and Adoration

  • Opportunities for service in our parish and in our greater community

  • Opportunities for leadership, mentorship and fellowship with peers as well as younger students (through participation in planning the Confirmation Retreat as well as next year's VBS program)

  • Special interest groups to meet others who share your hobbies and interests (D&D, baking, pro-life action and MORE)

  • Lots of fun!

So far this year, we have discussed Missionary Discipleship, Discussion & Disagreement & Humility.  All of our topics this year are being used across the Diocese and around the world as part of the Diocesan Pathways of Renewal from the Synod on Synodality.  You can learn more here. Interested in Workcamp? See the Workcamp Info Lettere here.

We launched our small groups on October 1st:

Baking Club, D&D, Outdoor Adventure & Pro-Life Warriors.  These are set up as sub-groups to our GroupMe.  If you do NOT want to get notifications for a sub-group (aka Topic):

  1. Open our GroupMe in the app.

  2. Open the Topic you want to mute.

  3. Once opened, click on the name of the Topic at the top of the screen.

  4. Click the "notifications" button.

  5. Select "mute."  Otherwise, all members of the main group will see all updates for all topics as well.

Finally, we are still in need of adult volunteers!

  • Volunteer your time as a small group discussion leader/mentor for our SENT nights or a special interest group (baking club, D&D, Outdoor Adventures or Pro-Life Warriors). We would love to have both genders and a variety of ages, life stages and vocations to walk with our teens this year!

  • Donate a meal to one of our gatherings.  Feeding the youth is our largest expense each year, but it is one of the most important aspects of our program. You can collaborate with other families to provide one meal, you can order delivery of pizza or another food option, or you can make a financial donation toward groceries for a meal that I prepare and serve. Any contribution is greatly valued and deeply appreciated!  2026 SENT Meal Sign Up

  • Purchase an item from our Amazon wish list for the youth program (shared with Work Camp).  Many of our games and supplies are very outdated and desperately need a refresh.  These items are not in our budget for this year and would make a big difference in the atmosphere of our gathering space as well as the fellowship opportunities for our youth. SENT Amazon Wish List.

Many thanks to the families who have already provided meals for our youth and those who have purchased items from our wish list.  This year is starting off with a more elevated, more intentional feel because of your generosity!  God bless you.
