NOVENA To ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI/La Novena de San Francisco de Asís

We are concluding our 135th Anniversary Year as a Parish on the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on October 4 and a Parish Family Celebration on October 5. What a wonderful year it has been! We have been singing the Prayer of Saint Francis at the end of every Mass and growing as Eucharistic Missionaries in the third year of the National Eucharistic Revival. We commemorated the 800th Anniversary of the first Christmas crèche developed by Saint Francis and welcomed hundreds of people seeking the plenary indulgence. And now we honor the 800th Anniversary of Saint Francis receiving the stigmata. We reach out to those stigmatized for their faith and accompany them here to Jesus for healing. As we conclude this 135th Anniversary Year, I invite you again to join me in the Novena to Saint Francis of Assisi. Let’s ask his help for our next 135 years! The Novena begins this Thursday, September 26 and continues every day through October 4. You can pray the Novena at home or join us at Mass every day to pray together.

O Beloved Saint Francis, gentle and poor, your obedience to God, and your simple, deep love for all God's creatures led you to the heights of heavenly perfection and turned many hearts to follow God's will.
Now in our day, in our ministry to the many who come here looking for Jesus and searching for peace, we come before the Lord with our special request:
Please bless our parish in all the years to come!
Please bring more people to Holy Communion during our National Eucharistic Revival.
Please increase your love and your peace in our hearts and our homes.
O Blessed Saint of God, from your throne among the hosts of heaven, present our petitions before our faithful Lord. May your prayers on our behalf be heard and may God grant us the grace to lead good and faithful lives. Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

Estamos concluyendo nuestro 135 Aniversario como Parroquia en la Fiesta de San Francisco de Asís el viernes, el 4 de octubre y una Celebración Familiar Parroquial, el sábado, el
5 de octubre. ¡Que maravilloso año ha sido! Hemos estado cantando la Oración de San Francisco al final de cada Misa y creciendo como Misioneros Eucarísticos en el tercer año del Renacimiento Eucarístico Nacional. Conmem-oramos el 800 aniversario del primer pesebre de Navidad creado por San Francisco y acogimos a cientos de personas que solicitaban la indulgencia plenaria. Y ahora recordamos el 800 aniversario de la aparición de los estigmas de San Francisco. Nos acercamos a los estigmatizados por su fe y los acompañamos hasta Jesús para que los cure. Recuerda "Caminar Con Alguien" este año que no conozca a Jesús o que se haya alejado de Él. Estoy tan feliz de decirles que
muchos están volviendo a Jesús, ¡gracias a ustedes!

O amado San Francisco, manso y pobre, tu obediencia a Dios y tu amor sencillo y profundo por todas las criaturas de Dios te llevaron a las alturas de la perfección celestial y convirtieron muchos corazones para seguir la voluntad de Dios.

Por favor, aumenta tu amor y tu paz en nuestros corazones y en nuestros hogares.
O Santo Bendito de Dios, desde tu trono entre las huestes del cielo, presenta nuestras peticiones ante nuestro fiel Señor. Que tus oraciones en nuestro favor sean escuchadas y que Dios nos conceda la gracia de llevar una vida buena y fiel. Amén.
