FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

The Mass is the “source and summit” of our faith, worship, and Christian community. St. Francis of Assisi Parish and all of its members who have received the Sacrament of the Eucharist are invited to joining us in receiving the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is actually present both in Scripture and through the Eucharist during our celebration and remembrance of Him.
First Holy Communion Catechesis
Celebrating the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time should be an integral part of the ongoing religious experience of a child. Receiving First Holy Communion further initiates a person into the life of the Christian community.
REQUIREMENTS for a FRUITFUL FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
St. Francis of Assisi requires a child to complete two consecutive years of faith formation classes prior to receiving the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Classes begin in First Grade. If your child is in Second Grade and has missed prior year of Faith Formation classes, please contact Maribel Talafuse, Director of Elem.
