OUTREACH ORGANIZATIONS

St. Francis of Assisi Parish works with these outstanding service organizations. In addition to other organizations, like Catholic Charities, parishioners are welcome to join the mission of each group and act as a Christian witness to the good which he brings to the world through our members.

ST VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY

With the goal of social justice, the mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is to serve those in need, in the geographical area of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, through community outreach following the “Way” taught by Christ”.

The Society helps several families a month with financial assistance ranging from rent, food, and utility bills. Through an application process and working in conjunction with area resources, evictions and utility shut-offs have been avoided and families are protected.

St Vincent DePaul also offers two Food Pantries each month.

Volunteers who would want to “work” the pantry and any nominal donation towards the pantry supplies are always appreciated.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES

As the charitable arm of the Diocese of Colorado Springs, families and individuals come to Catholic Charities to begin their journey from crisis to stability, to weather the current storm, or to heal a broken spirit.
Through our faith, our staff and volunteers guide those we serve with compassion and purpose, helping map out the journey based upon realistic goals and abilities, utilizing Catholic Charities’ programs and services, partner agencies, and community collaborations.  At our core, we understand that every connection has the potential to empower and uplift, to breathe life into aspirations and dreams.  Through these bonds, lives are impacted and transformed.
Catholic Charities serves anyone in need regardless of religion, race, gender, age, disability, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, or background.

SAFE FAMILIES FOR CHILDREN

Do you feel overwhelmed and struggle to meet the needs of your children? We’re here to help.
When your family is in a crisis, we make our families available. We’re here to make sure you are not alone when you know you can’t do it by yourself. Our volunteer community can help support your family as you reach your goals during a temporary crisis or difficult season.
Safe Families for Children is a network of families who volunteer to care for your children so you can get back on your feet. Our goal is to keep your family together. Once you feel like you and your home environment is stable and healthy we’ll work with you to reunite your family as soon as possible.
As the biological parent (or legal guardian) you maintain full custody of your children. And you are encouraged to participate in decisions regarding their care while they are being hosted. Our aim is to form a partnership between you and the volunteer families and see the Host Family as extended family. We encourage the relationship to continue even after your children return home.

CARE PORTAL

Care Portal is a web application that puts Christian hearts in touch with families in need.  Your donation can help children who are in foster care, prevent the need for foster care, and provide stability to families in crisis.
Organizations such as Douglas County Department of Human Services,  Advocates for Children CASA, and Catholic Charities share local needs to the app and you can learn more and choose which family you wish to help.
Please view the video below and consider teaming up with St Francis of Assisi Parish in helping local families meet their child's needs.
