Fr. Mark Zacker

Thanks so much to Father Homero for his series on the Church Fathers. I hope we all took some time to learn about these great teachers of the faith and see how their lessons apply to our own lives!

Thanks to our Hispanic community and the Knights of Columbus for their participation in the visit of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to our parish on All Saint’s Day. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Principal Patron of our Diocese. (Saint Francis of Assisi is our Secondary Patron.) The prayers of the Saints are very powerful in accompanying us on our own journey to heaven. Mary, our Mother, and Saint Francis of Assisi, pray for us!

On All Soul's Day, and throughout the month of November, we pray for all those who have died. We remember especially all those who died from Covid-19. You may enter their names in the special book/basket of remembrance in our sanctuary. May they Rest In Peace. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, Rest In Peace. Amen.

Thursday, November 11 is Veteran’s Day. Thanks to all those who have served our country in the Armed Services. We will remember you at Mass at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

At our recent gathering of priests with Bishop Golka, I was re-elected to a second three-year term on the Presbyteral Council. The Presbyteral Council serves the Bishop in offering counsel on matters pertaining to governance of the diocese. The Presbyteral Council consists of Monsignors Jaeger and Coronado-Arrascue, and Fathers Golyzniak, Gordon, Hines, Jamka, Williams, and me. Please pray for us!

Spring

Spring weather can be unpredictable.  Remember last weekend!  Daffodils and crocuses begin to emerge during days of temperatures in the 60s and 70s, only to be startled by a plunge into the 30s or 40s
