Parish Update

Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving Day! I was told we had the most people present for our Thanksgiving Day Mass than we had in a long time! Praise the Lord! Both Father Homero and I spent Thanksgiving afternoon with friends. I hope you were able to give thanks and enjoy the blessings the Lord has given you.

Last Friday, I celebrated a Funeral Mass for Linda Villanueva. She died in March, 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic. After a long time of separation, her family was able to get together from across the country for Thanksgiving and lay her to rest. We Live-streamed the Mass to other family across the United States and to Peru, South America. They gave thanks to God for her wonderful life and love in the midst of a very painful loss during a very difficult year.

Last Sunday, we welcomed our catechumens and candidates for full communion with us at the 9:30 AM Mass. I’m so happy when I see the excitement on their faces and hear the desire in their voices to come to know and follow Jesus more closely in our parish community. They inspire me in my service as a priest!

What a wonderful parish we have here! I’m so happy to be with you!

During this last month of the year, I would ask your generous support of our work together. The homepage to our parish website has a link to our latest newsletter where you can read more about the ministries of our parish and the wonderful work that we are doing together. There is a link, also, for your donation. I met with our Finance Council when I arrived here in September, and they mentioned that our greatest need is paying down our debt. You might designate your gift for that specific need.

As we walk through this season of Advent, looking forward to Christmas, may the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lead and guide you and your families closer, day-by-day to the joy of heaven!

Parochial Administrator
