Our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was this Saturday night, June 13! Thanks so much to everyone who gives their talent in service to the mission of Jesus here in our parish! We are grateful for each and every one of you, and we need each and every one of you! Special thanks to John and Amee Cave for their nine years of service as leaders of our OCIA team!
The number of adults falling in love with Jesus and his Church are growing, both here and around the world! They come to desire Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion with us. This is a long process of conversion. We need more help to walk with them on the OCIA team. If you are interested, please talk to Deacon Matthew Brend. As Jesus famously said in today’s Gospel: “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Thanks to Father Michael and our growing Young Adult Ministry for the beautiful Overnight Adoration held in honor of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11-12. The Bishops of the United States asked us, and we joined them, in a Consecration of our country to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. As we prepare to celebrate 250 years as a nation on July 4, let us put aside all divisions and enter more deeply into the Most Sacred Heart of love.
And finally, this weekend, I am celebrating 30 years as a priest! Thanks to our Seven Sisters Apostolate — and all of you - for your continued prayers and support. I am so grateful to Father Michael and Father Carlos, our Deacons, and Parish Staff, for their hard work with me here. Father Carlos will be on vacation for the next two weeks. Please pray for him and a safe journey to visit his family.
As our parish continues to grow, and we look for new land for a second parish in the Crystal Valley area, we will need even more help. Keep turning to the master of the harvest to send out more laborers for his harvest!
Fr. Mark Zacker
Pastor
