Our stewardship way of life could be described as our daily living in the Kingdom of Heaven. Today’s Bible readings recognize the Kingdom among us and order our lives towards it.

We need wisdom like Solomon and Saint Paul to live the stewardship way of life because stewardship requires us to make choices every day about how we will use the gifts God has entrusted to us.  When our priorities are aligned with God’s will rather than the values of the world, we can be confident and at peace.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus uses a series of parables to help us see the incomparable value of His Kingdom.  The Kingdom is something precious that must be sought and recognized. We must intentionally look for it amid the distractions and noise of the world. His Kingdom is meant for all, but can never be merely one priority among many. It is the greatest treasure we can possess, so this life in Christ is worth any sacrifice. We will be judged based on our choice.

This week, look for the Kingdom of Heaven around you and pursue it above all else. See what happens!  There is no greater treasure, and no greater source of joy, than living in the Kingdom of Heaven —  NOW!
