WELCOME Y BIENVENIDOS a PADRE PAUL WILLIAMS!

Fr. Paul Williams comes to St. Francis in Castle Rock from Georgia, where he was born and raised, a graduate of Georgia Tech.  He worked as a systems engineer in the defense industry before responding to the call to the priesthood and was ordained on March 4th, 1995. 

Early in his ministry, he saw the needs of the growing immigrant population in Georgia and founded Spanish Masses in several parishes before going to El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico for two years to deepen his understanding of the language and culture.  Returning to Georgia, he pastored his home parish in Carrollton, Georgia for 7 years, and then the largest bilingual parish in the state, St. Joseph's in Dalton, Georgia for 13 years. 

In Dalton, home to the carpet industry where the immigrants came to work in the factories, the parish and the missions they founded grew to over 5000 families, with hundreds of baptisms, first communions, and confirmations each year.  The community was hit very hard during Covid, with over 250 funerals.  In August of 2022, he was granted a sabbatical and travelled in an RV around the Southwest with his puppies.  He has a brother in Colorado Springs, so in November of 2022, he asked Bishop Golka if he could help out.  Since then, he has helped out in over a dozen parishes in the Diocese, most recently at St. Gabriel.  He has fallen in love with Colorado and enjoys photography, spicy foods, Jeeps, and is still a computer geek at heart.  His favorite day of the year is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Feel free to friend him on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/padre.paul.williams/ , and check out his photos on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/padrecito/albums/ .

 El Padre Paul Williams viene a San Francisco en Castle Rock desde Georgia, donde nació y se crió, y es graduado del Georgia Tech. Trabajó como ingeniero de sistemas en la industria de defensa antes de responder al llamado al sacerdocio y fue ordenado el 4 de marzo de 1995.

Al inicio de su ministerio, vio las necesidades de la creciente población inmigrante en Georgia y fundó Misas en español en varias parroquias antes de ir a El Paso y Ciudad Juárez, México, por dos años para profundizar su comprensión del idioma y la cultura. Al regresar a Georgia, fue párroco de su parroquia natal en Carrollton, Georgia, durante 7 años, y luego de la parroquia bilingüe más grande del estado, San José en Dalton, Georgia, durante 13 años.

En Dalton, hogar de la industria de alfombras donde los inmigrantes venían a trabajar en las fábricas, la parroquia y las misiones que fundaron crecieron a más de 5000 familias, con cientos de bautizos, primeras comuniones y confirmaciones cada año. La comunidad fue muy afectada durante el Covid, con más de 250 funerales. En agosto de 2022, se le concedió un sabático y viajó en un RV por la región con sus perritas. Tiene un hermano en Colorado Springs, así que en noviembre de 2022, preguntó al Obispo Golka si podía ayudar. Desde entonces, ha ayudado en más de una docena de parroquias en la Diócesis, más recientemente en San Gabriel. Se ha enamorado de Colorado y disfruta de la fotografía, comidas picantes, Jeeps, y sigue siendo un aficionado de computadoras. Su día favorito del año es la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
