Thanks so much to everyone for your prayers on my 58th Birthday! I am so blessed to be in the best parish in the Diocese!  I am so grateful to Fr. Michael, Fr. Carlos, our Deacons, Parish Staff, Catechists, and all of our Ministry Volunteers for the love you show to Jesus and His Church.  We are growing by the grace of the Holy Spirit and your wonderful work!  I pray that our young people, newly Confirmed, this Saturday, and our graduates from High School and College, will share the same Good News with their friends and lead more and more young people to Jesus and His Church!

Jesus always pointed to His Father and so should we! In today’s Gospel, Jesus said that the words that He spoke did not come from Him but from the Father. All of Jesus' life, from His birth to His death, pointed to His unity with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. In fact, Jesus had been showing them the Father all along. Not only the words but the works of Jesus are the works of the Father. As Jesus loves us, so the Father loves us. As we love Jesus, so, too, we love the Father.

Our Patron, Saint Francis of Assisi, also, always pointed to the Father. As he walked the roads and as he entered the towns, he cried out to all in a loud, proud voice, 'I am the herald of the King of Kings." His whole life pointed to none other than Our Father, the sole possessor of his body, mind and spirit. There was no distraction, there was no misdirection, there was no other purpose for Saint Francis.  May it be the same for us!

From Saint Peter and Saint Paul and the apostles down through the ages, all of the saints point to God in word and action. For many of us, those before us, our parents and grandparents, our friends and family, have pointed to God for us. Without others showing us the way, we may have stumbled and got lost, missing the mark in life. So, as those did before us, this week, let us too, point someone to Our Father and be heralds of the King of Kings.

Pastor
